Country & Square Dance Music

Our Music

For some people, making music is easy. They're gifted with a musicality and ability to play multiple instruments. Carl Kaye is one of them. Carl can play several instruments, among them are: Steel Guitar, Solo guitar, keyboards, drums, bass, and more. He is in fact, a one-man-band!
Also, Carl is a Square Dance caller, so he understands what the needs for Square Dance music are.

Carl has recorded the following singing calls for me:

bulletMP3EPT 11 - All Summer Long
Finally a song that rocks. This Kid Rock hit has been in the charts for over 15 weeks in Europe. All Summer Long will bring back memories of camping with your friends in the 80's when life was simple and fun.
To be released: November 2008.

bulletMP3EPT 10 - Rainbow Rider
Great song about the love with a cowboy. He's gotta leave when the sun comes up and follow the rainbow.
Released: August 2008.

bulletMP3EPT 8 - Someday Soon
Nice song that I know from Moe Bandy that I also put on my CD Cowboy Love, as well as Amarillo By Morning.
Released: October 2005.

bulletMP3EPT 7 - Amarillo By Morning
I do love this song when it's done by George Strait. There's a version that I know by fiddle player John Permenter. We substituted the fiddle with my harmonica. I hope you like it.
Released: October 2005.

bulletMP3EPT 6 - Little Willy
A very different song now, not Country at all. A song from the 70's if I recall well, originally by The Sweet. Sung by Michael Straus.
Released: November 2003

bulletMP3EPT 5 - Fiddle and Guitar Band
A very nice Country song, originally by The Charlie Daniels Band and George Jones, and can be found on the album "Friends in High Places".
The caller for this song is Michael Straus from March -  Germany.
Released: June 2003

bulletMP3EPT 4 - Valentine
Willie Nelson wrote this song, which is really a good tune for your Valentine's dance.  Harmonica is played by me, all other instruments by Carl.
Released: March 2003

bulletMP3EPT 3 - The Shifting Whispering Sand
An old Cowboy song in a version similar to The Sons of the Pioneers. Nice song that can be used with or without harmony vocals. The caller is my old friend Mike Darrah from Littleton, CO. All instruments are played by Carl Kaye, except for the dobro and harmonica. These are played by me, as well as the harmony vocals.
This was a very international project. The initial recordings were made at the Hilltop Studios in Austria. Then instruments and voices were added in Erik's Attic in the Netherlands. Mike Bentley recorded Mike's voice in Colorado, USA, and the final mix was made in Erik's Attic.
Released: May 2003

bulletMP3EPT 2 - Kaw Liga
This is an old Hank Williams (Sr.) song, of which I already had a singing call of. The reason for this recording was, that I was inspired by the version of Hank Williams Jr., which is a more up-to-date kind of song with a good danceable beat. Very well played by Carl.
Released: February 2003

bulletMP3EPT 1 - American Honky Tonk Bar Association
This is a song that I know from Garth Brooks. We altered it slightly to fit the 7 x 32 bars, most common for Square Dancing.
Released: February 2003
